New city, new uniform, same attitude
2018 sees the start of a new chapter for the Honey Badgers as they take to the field in Division One of the BAFA Flag League for the first time.
After missing out on the play-offs for the first time in the club’s history in 2017, the Badgers made several key off-season changes to ensure that they are competitive in the newly-expanded league’s second tier.
Following discussions within the team, the Badgers relocated from Mansfield to Nottingham from the start of the 2018 pre-season, a decision which featured on Notts TV. With better access to the city’s pool of football talent and easier travel options, the move has seen the Badgers swell their squad to record numbers, adding nine new players to the roster for the season.
Honey Badgers add new players to roster
The new additions include quarterbacks Luca Rossoni and Caleb Cockrill – both of whom bring significant football experience – two former Beeston Bears in Matt Triggs and Paul Teague and a pair of ex-kitted stars in Kiel Hodgson and Adam Jones. The team’s talented roster has also been boosted by the capture of rookie standouts Tom Hassall, Jack Pearce and Guillaume Eprinchard. Check out the full roster!
Alongside the expanded squad, the Badgers will be sporting a new look after being kitted out by sportswear giant Nike and local printing firm Miles McK Shirts for 2018, and will play their home games at ROKO Health Club in West Bridgford.

Who’s next? Honey Badgers’ 2018 opponents are…
The 2018 season will see the Badgers take on several new teams as well as a number of old foes in a restructured league schedule that sees the clubs fighting for promotion to the Premier Division.
After opening the season against Beeston and Rotherham Roosters, the Badgers will take on Sheffield Giants and Calderdale Knights in MEC Division One East fixtures, with cross-divisional games against Wigan Bandits, Warrington Revolution, Chorley Buccaneers, Oldham Owls and Cheshire Cavaliers.
